Reilly received a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award® nomination for his role in the musical “Chicago.” He has starred in more than 50 films including “Carnage,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “The Aviator” and “Step Brothers,” as well as “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” in which he performed his GRAMMY® Award-nominated song “Walk Hard.”

For her now iconic role of Sue Sylvester in the television series “Glee,” Jane Lynch won Emmy® and Golden Globe® Awards. She has appeared in numerous films by writer/director Christopher Guest, including “Best in Show” and “A Mighty Wind.”

Sarah Silverman is an Emmy®-winning actress and comedian who starred in her own Comedy Central show, “The Sarah Silverman Program.”  She can be seen in the drama feature “Take This Waltz” and is the author of the New York Times best-seller, “The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption and Pee.”

Jack McBrayer is an Emmy® nominee for portraying Kenneth Parcell on “30 Rock.” His other animated film voice credits include “Despicable Me.” He appeared in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” among other films. He will next be seen in “The Campaign” for Warner Bros. and “The To-Do List” for CBS Films.

Director Rich Moore has won critical acclaim for directing episodes of such cutting edge animated television series as “The Simpsons,” “Futurama” and “Drawn Together.” He won the directing Emmy® Award in the category of Outstanding Animated Program for “Roswell That Ends Well.” He also received an Annie Award for that same episode of “Futurama.” He is an alumnus of CalArts.

Clark Spencer previously produced the Disney animated hits “Winnie the Pooh,” “Bolt” and “Lilo & Stitch.”

The clothing drive will be held Sat Sept. 29 from 10 am-2 pm in the Daybreak Community on Soda Row!  We’ll be next door to Oopsie Daisy Children’s Boutique at 11277 Kestrel Rise Road.

My friend Kristin of The Vocal Sokol has put together this great event. Please support this amazing blogger. I’ll be there with my kiddos!

Here’s the list of what we’re looking for…

  • New packages of socks and underwear in any size. Especially the smallest sizes.  Teachers at the school say the kids often come without any undies or some that are full of holes and 5 sizes too big.
  • We want your best gently used warm clothing in any size infant through adult.
  • New warm clothing.  If you see something on clearance, go ahead and pick it up.  We’ll find a little body that needs it.

It will be a fun event and we will be doing some giveaway drawings during the event.

What you should know about the TSA Security Check – Women’s Opt  Out and your rights

If you’ve traveled lately, you’ve probably gone through the dome for the security check. You have to spread your legs and put your arms in the air. It’s rather violating and makes me feel uncomfortable.

Did you know that as a woman, you don’t have to do this? As a matter of fact, anyone can opt out.

I learned this on my last trip to LA. The woman in front of me said, “Women’s opt out” or “I opt out” to the TSA agent. Instead of being shuffled to the scanning device, you can opt to not have the body scan. You are NOT REQUIRED BY LAW to be scanned. Instead you will be patted down. This takes more time. But know that you have a choice.

The full body scans are embarrassing and feels like a strip search. There are health and privacy risks associated with the scanners.

Knowing rights when traveling is key.

“SAVING MR. BANKS” BEGINS PRODUCTION IN LOS ANGELES

Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks, revolving around ‘Mary Poppins’ author P.L. Travers begins production in LA.

 

Los Angeles, Calif., September 19, 2012—Disney began production today on “Saving Mr. Banks,” the account of Walt Disney’s twenty-year pursuit of the film rights to P.L. Travers’ popular novel, Mary Poppins, and the testy partnership the upbeat filmmaker develops with the uptight author during the project’s pre-production in 1961.

 
            Two-time Academy Award®-winner Tom Hanks (“Philadelphia,” “Forrest Gump”) will essay the role of the legendary Disney (the first time the entrepreneur has ever been depicted in a dramatic film) alongside fellow double Oscar®-winner Emma Thompson (“Howard’s End,” “Sense and Sensibility”) in the role of the prickly novelist.  Before actually signing away the book’s rights, Travers’ demands for contractual script and character control circumvent not only Disney’s vision for the film adaptation, but also those of the creative team of screenwriter Don DaGradi and sibling composers Richard and Robert Sherman, whose original score and song (Chim-Chim-Cher-ee) would go on to win Oscars® at the 1965 ceremonies (the film won five awards of its thirteen nominations).
 
            When Travers travels from London to Hollywood in 1961 to finally discuss Disney’s desire to bring her beloved character to the motion picture screen (a quest he began in the 1940s as a promise to his two daughters), Disney meets a prim, uncompromising sexagenarian not only suspect of the impresario’s concept for the film, but a woman struggling with her own past.  During her stay in California, Travers’ reflects back on her childhood in 1906 Australia, a trying time for her family which not only molded her aspirations to write, but one that also inspired the characters in her 1934 book. 
 
            None more so than the one person whom she loved and admired more than any other—her caring father, Travers Goff, a tormented banker who, before his untimely death that same year, instills the youngster with both affection and enlightenment (and would be the muse for the story’s patriarch, Mr. Banks, the sole character that the famous nanny comes to aide).  While reluctant to grant Disney the film rights, Travers comes to realize that the acclaimed Hollywood storyteller has his own motives for wanting to make the film—which, like the author, hints at the relationship he shared with his own father in the early 20th Century Midwest.
 
            Colin Farrell (“Minority Report,” “Total Recall”) co-stars as Travers’ doting dad, Goff, along with British actress Ruth Wilson (the forthcoming films “The Lone Ranger” and “Anna Karenina”) as his long-suffering wife, Margaret; Oscar® and Emmy® nominee Rachel Griffiths (“Six Feet Under,” “Hilary and Jackie,” “The Rookie”) as Margaret’s sister, Aunt Ellie (who inspired the title character of Travers’ novel); and a screen newcomer—11-year-old Aussie native Annie Buckley as the young, blossoming writer, nicknamed “Ginty” in the flashback sequences.
 
            The cast also includes Emmy® winner Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing,” “The Cabin in the Woods”) as screenwriter Don DaGradi; Jason Schwartzman (“Rushmore,” “Moonrise Kingdom”) and B.J. Novak (“NBC’s “The Office,” “Inglourious Basterds”) as the songwriting Sherman Brothers (Richard and Robert, respectively); Oscar® nominee and Emmy winner Paul Giamatti (“Sideways,” “Cinderella Man,” HBO’s “John Adams”) as Ralph, the kindly limousine driver who escorts Travers during her two-week stay in Hollywood; and multi-Emmy winner Kathy Baker (“Picket Fences,” “Edward Scissorhands”) as Tommie, one of Disney’s trusted studio associates.
 
            “Saving Mr. Banks” will be directed by John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side,” “The Rookie”) based on a screenplay by Kelly Marcel (creator of FOX-TV’s “Terra Nova”), from a story by Sue Smith (“Brides of Christ,” “Bastard Boys”) and Kelly Marcel.  The film is being produced by Alison Owen of Ruby Films (the Oscar®-nominated “Elizabeth,” HBO’s Emmy®-winning “Temple Grandin”), Ian Collie of Essential Media (the Aussie TV documentary “The Shadow of Mary Poppins,” DirecTV’s “Rake”) and longtime Hancock collaborator Philip Steuer (“The Rookie,” “The Chronicles of Narnia” trilogy).  The film’s executive producers are Ruby Films’ Paul Trijbits (“Lay the Favorite,” “Jane Eyre”), Hopscotch Features’ Andrew Mason (“The Matrix” trilogy, “Dark City”) and Troy Lum (“Mao’s Last Dancer,” “I, Frankenstein”) and BBC Films’ Christine Langan (Oscar® nominee for “The Queen,” “We Need to Talk About Kevin”).
 
            Hancock’s filmmaking team includes a trio of artists with whom he worked on his 2009 Best Picture Oscar® nominee, “The Blind Side”—two-time Oscar® nominated production designer Michael Corenblith (“How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Apollo 13”), Emmy®-winning costume designer Daniel Orlandi (HBO’s “Game Change,” “Frost/Nixon”) and film editor Mark Livolsi, A.C.E. (“Wedding Crashers” “The Devil Wears Prada”).  Hancock also reunites with Academy Award®-nominated cinematographer John Schwartzman (“Seabiscuit,” “Pearl Harbor”), with whom he first worked on his inspiring 2002 sports drama, “The Rookie.”
 
            “Saving Mr. Banks” will film entirely in the Los Angeles area, with key locations to include Disneyland in Anaheim and the Disney Studios in Burbank.  Filming will conclude around Thanksgiving, 2012, with no specific 2013 release date yet set.

The EOS M Digital Camera has an internal stereo microphone for high-quality audio capture and a wind filter feature to reduce wind noise when shooting outdoors. Sound recording levels can be manually (up to 64 different levels) or automatically controlled. A built-in attenuator is also provided to reduce audio clipping. Video Snapshot

By shooting three consecutive shots at different exposures (underexposed, correctly exposed and overexposed) and then combining the images, the final result maintains detail in both the shadow and highlight areas, ensuring the backlit subject is properly exposed.

Seven Creative Filters, plus new Art Bold Effect and Water Painting Effect

With Multi Shot Noise Reduction activated, the camera takes four consecutive shots, merges and aligns them. BOTTLE WARMER REVIEW

At evo conference I connected with a great local company that has developed an innovate way to warm bottles. I was excited to field test their product during our trip to the Tetons because our 18 month old daughter still loves her bottle to be arm. We were camping and knew that warming a bottle would prove to be atricky challenge.

The {brand name} packaging is really nicely designed, I really like the cow print design for the sleeve.

The bottle sleeve did not fit our bottle, so we wrapped the warming part around the bottle, which seemed to adhere just fine.

However, the milk never got very warm.

I was really disappointed in this product because I think it ahas a lot of potential to resolve an issue that we deal with when traveling.

It’s always a rather stressful sitation when you havea tried screaming child you and trying to console and then to not have the bottle warm as expected added a fair amount of stress to the situation. Luckily, my husband was able to drive to the gas station and warm her milk in the microwave.
