As you can see their are multiple ways to wear this scarf.  I love the hidden pockets.

When the package arrived, I was impressed by the images that illustrate different ways to wear it. I love to wear gray (see above pictures, I’m wearing a gray shirt and then my gray jacket here).

This scarf is versatile and the perfect travel companion. You can fit your phone and keys in the hidden compartments.

Orange isn’t my favorite color, but would love one in black or purple. I think this is a great invention and love it!

Look for changes on the Danish Mama blog in 2013

Finally, I’m going to do it.

I’m changing the Danish Mama blog.

This has been a long time coming.

I’m pleased to officially announce that the Danish Mama blog will become Adventure Mom TV in 2013!

Follow me on the twitter @AdventureMomTV and Facebook Page Adventure Mom TV.

Working on branding right now.

Love the Neutrua font & gyliph.

The tagline will be something like “for daring adventures big and small”.

What do you think?

Also, created an inspiration Pinterest Board for Adventure:

I adore the top photo on the left and have contacted the photographer, but haven’t heard back.

As you can see, I really love the idea of using a red balloon to show adventure, especially with children.

Also, been looking for inspiration on iStock, but not loving it as much:

Now I just need to figure out how to tie in the “TV” aspect. Maybe some kind of play button?

Thoughts?

Santa: He’s my friend

We went to visit Santa at The Gateway Mall in downtown Salt Lake City. We arrived early and saw the Starry Starry Nightswhere they sync the music with the fountains and the lights.

The kids enjoyed it even thought it was 27 degrees outside.

We sat by the fire and warmed ourselves. As we stat there and waited for the show to start, we saw Santa drive by on a golf cart and our son waved and said, ‘That’s my friend”. My heart melted.

He believes.

It’s so magical to see Santa through the eyes of a child.

Then we headed over to Blickenstaffs for some treats. Sadly, the chocolate covered gummy bears were almost out. But I guess that’s better for my waist line.

Finding Santa was a little tricky. I thought it would have been by the fountains, but it was on the other end of the mall North of JMR.

We walked in and saw there was no line. The children timidly approached Santa.

Santa saw their Santa hats and told them that Santa always wears his hat with the ball on the left side because that’s the side where the heart is.

The sound doesn’t really work on the video, but it’s still sweet to see Santa so caring and kind.

We were able to take a handful of pictures and choose from our favorite. It was a very sweet experience and we loved how well Santa listened and how much one on one time the children had with Santa. It was worth bearing the cold and the long walk to see Santa and create this special memory for our children.

If you’re looking for a special Santa experience, The Gateway is a great place to go and experience the magic of Santa. The holiday hours for seeing Santa are not listed on the website, but we went around 5:00 and he was there then.

Tinkertoy exhibit at Discovery Gateway $6.50 admission through January 6 #slc #mom #activities

My son is out of school this week. It’s only Monday and we’re getting antsy. So, I’ve been researching some fun local Salt Lake Activities and saw that the Tinkertoy Exhibit at Discovery Gateway is still open and admission is only $6.50!

Would anyone be up for meeting and going together?

Build Your Imagination at Discovery Gateway!

As a gift to patrons, Discovery Gateway: The children’s museum of Utah™ is offering a chance to visit the TINKERTOY®: Build Your Imagination™ exhibit before it leaves the building on Jan. 6, with $6.50 admission Monday-Saturday and $5 admission on Sundays during the month of December

Now  through January 6th

There’s no limit to what kids can do in TINKERTOY®: Build Your Imagination™, a new interactive exhibit at Discovery Gateway!

Giant replicas of the classic TINKERTOY® construction set provide the framework for fun, educational activities inspired by GE technologies that turn imagination into working solutions to real world challenges. Bring the whole family to the exhibit and enjoy a variety of activities that promote imagination and collaboration:

Invent – Children are encouraged to think about where ideas come from, and to explore the emerging field of biomimicry – nature’s influence on design. Visitors can match real inventions with their natural inspiration and create a design of their own.

Collaborate – Dual-sided panels allow visitors to work independently or with a partner to create TINKERTOY designs.

Energize – Children can explore GE’s commitment to renewable energy as they use a kid-powered fan to test their own wind-powered TINKERTOY creations.

Change – A Rube Goldberg-like contraption illustrates the power of creative thinking and how simple mechanisms work. The activity lets children select and position words to build silly – but thought-provoking! – sentences that serve as the springboard for innovation.

Process/Connect – TINKERTOY-inspired equipment lets children explore the concept of filtration, while a companion activity invites them to build ball tracks that illustrate how GE technologies help address the challenge of providing clean water. Finding the correct path through a graphic maze answers children’s curiosity about “Where does the water go?”

Develop – Visitors will enjoy filling a life-size human form with TINKERTOY hubs, providing a great photo opportunity and revealing the elements of a healthy lifestyle – and emptying the piece is fun, too! A special rotating TINKERTOY hub array inspires children to consider the impact of their personal choices, highlighting one of our most important responsibilities: taking care of ourselves so that we can do anything!

Create – This open play area reserved for children age 3 and older features a spectacular assortment of TINKERTOY pieces – the perfect place to build their imagination. Pictures of remarkable TINKERTOY creations and special tips provide guidance and inspiration.

The Tinker Tank – A walk-in size replica of a TINKERTOY canister is the starting point for the exhibit’s challenging scavenger hunt, a must for those with an eye for detail and a nose for knowledge! The Tinker Tank contains a variety of educational materials that attest to the impact of unconventional ideas on some of the world’s greatest – and strangest – inventions, and serve as a reminder that “If at first you don’t succeed…”

KREO Transformers Image

The Hasbro Elves from Santa’s workshop deliver Kre-o Transformers for our children to test! @HasbroNews #hasbrokreo #transformers #christmas #review

Pst…the Hasbro Elves from Santa’s Workshop arrived at our house and asked the kids to test out their Kre-o Transformers.

Watch this video to see what they think of Kre-O Transformers:

As part of the Hasbro’s KRE-O Tranformers Blog Tour we were sent three boxes to review and as you saw in the above video, it was a huge success.

What we loved about the Kre-o Transformers:

– Colorful pieces

– Box picture was fun and told a story.

– The box can be reused to store the toys in

– Provided HOURS of fun (this is really important to me: when looking at toys for our children I like to compare the dollars spent compared to the houses of use. I call it “cost per use”.)

– Instructions were very simple and easy to follow

What we didn’t love:

– The construction workers faces are pretty burley

– The big box contained almost 600 pieces and really wish they could come pre-sorted by color

More about Kre-o Transformers

Hasbro’s KRE-‐O TRANSFORMERS sets lets your kids build Transformer characters in two ways: a robot or a vehicle – using the same bricks!

Each set also comes with KREON figures (mini figs) that are called Autobots and Decptioncons.

Kre-O Transformers sets make great presents and stocking stuffers.

We enjoyed playing atih the Kre-o Transformers and it was a fun activity for us todo together. We spent the whole day orgaizing pieces, playing with the KREON Figures, making our own mini movies and most importantly, spending time together!

We took the small Cycle Chase set up to my moms house and our son played with the set while I cleaned and made lunch.

We love that the box can be reused and is a great way to store the pieces when you’re done playing.

The smaller sets are great for younger kids too, that might not be ready for the big sets.

Our son made his own video:

The Battle for Energon set includes pieces to build two Transformer characters – heroic Optiums Prime and evil Megatron – all in the same set.

The Deconstructor Site Devastator set is the ULTAMITE gift for advanced builders ages 8 and up. Our son had no problem following the “constructions”, as he calls them, to make his own vehicles. What we were really excited about with this set is that we can build four construction vehicles, four Constricticon robots or one big Decepticon robot Devastator. Our son wanted each of us (because there are four of us in the family) to pick out which vehical they wanted to make.

The KREON Micro-changers Mystery Bags make the perfect stocking stuffer. For only $2.99 , each mystery bag contains random KREON figure, which can also convert into an alternate mode like a jet or insect!

How does @theellenshow compare to @kathydalonslc?

It’s time to learn how to create infographics.

Since I don’t have mad Illustrator skills, I’ve been researching some free programs for creating infographics.

Here is an infographic I created for fun that shows @theellenshow ‘s twitter influence compared to mine:
